Dr. Arfan Iqbal

My name is Arfan Iqbal and I am the Principal Dentist at Spa Dental Handforth. Having qualified from Manchester Dental School in 2001, I began my career in the very busy referral clinics of Dundee Dental Hospital working alongside some of the top consultants in the country. Here, I developed my interest in Cosmetic and Advanced Restorative Dentistry. After obtaining further qualifications, I earned the prestigious membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

Following this l have worked with several large corporates including BUPA and Colgate in providing a wide variety of cosmetic procedures before becoming the principal dentist at Spa Dental Handforth. I regularly keep up to date with all the latest developments in dentistry, often travelling worldwide to obtain skills in the latest techniques. I enjoy treating nervous patients and have a very caring and professional approach towards them, this can be seen by the hundreds of testimonials received from my very happy patients.

I am very passionate about my dentistry including cosmetic dentistry such as veneers and implants. Many patients come to see me who have not seen a dentist for many years, they may not have been attending due to fear or they may have been ashamed of their smile. I feel especially proud once I have gained their trust, answered all their questions and given them a beautiful natural smile. It’s so rewarding to see them smile confidently for the first time in years and no longer be scared of going to the dentist. This passion is also reflected in my team who go to great lengths to ensure that your visit is as relaxing and as pleasant as can be. To complement my dentistry I carry out facial rejuvenation procedures such as Botox and Dermal Fillers

Outside dentistry I enjoy spending time with friends and family and am a keen badminton player.

	Jonathan Winship works as a full time dentist at SpaDental Handforth and has worked there since June 06. He is new to the area originally being from Liverpool.. His favourite dentistry areas are crown, bridge work and cosmetic dentistry. Outside of work Jonathan enjoys running and riding his mountain bike.
	Martin Baron works part-time at SpaDental Handforth. He graduated from Liverpool in 1986 and has spent the past 21 years working in general practice. Martin enjoys most aspects of dentistry especially treating children. Outside of work he enjoys rugby but has now swapped his rugby boots for hiking boots.
	Lisa Meredith is a therapist at SpaDental Handforth. She qualified from Manchester in 2007 and specialises in periodontal treatment and can offer advice and education to ensure all our mouths are healthy. Lisa says she considers this to be fundamental for optimum oral health.
	Sarah Mellor works as a hygienist at SpaDental Handforth. Qualifying from Manchester. She enjoys treating and motivating patients in all aspects of oral health. Outside of work she enjoys working with animals and looking after her children.
	Pat Genders is SpaDental Handforth's practice manager and is also a qualified and registered dental nurse. Pat deals with the day to day running of the practice and looks after all the staffing issues. She is always on hand to answer any questions you may have, ensuring you feel welcome and receive the best possible care.
	Linda Griffiths has been the receptionist here at SpaDental Handforth since October 2007 when she moved to the area from Birmingham. Linda says she endeavours to greet every patient with a smile and a kind word. She is a key part of the friendly team here at SpaDental Handforth.
	Somia Imran is a qualified and registered dental nurse who joined SpaDental Handforth in 2007. She works closely with the rest of the team to give the best care and advice to all our highly valued patients, and will always welcome you with a big smile.
	Karen Millward is a dental surgery assistant at SpaDental Handforth who is currently working towards gaining her qualification in dental nursing. She is always happy to help and advise and enjoys being part of the friendly team at SpaDental Handforth.
	Leyla Butterworth has recently joined SpaDental Handforth as a dental surgery assistant and is currently working towards her qualification. Outside of work Leyla enjoys Cheer Leading and dancing. She is looking forward to working closely with the rest of the team to give the best possible care and attention to our patients.
	Joanne Genders has recently joined SpaDental Handforth as a dental surgery assistant. She is also a qualified beauty therapist helping patients relax with a hand massage or manicure.
	Rozy works with Linda on reception at SpaDental Handforth. She is a very helpful individual and will always welcome you with a big smile. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and cooking.
